The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

Published December 5, 1974

This is a '60s "Black Power" tune written by Gill Scott-Heron. It makes a point that everything is skewed towards white people, television, advertising, TV shows, with black people being portrayed in condescending or stereotypical racial roles. "The revolution will be no re-run brother, the revolution will be live."
